Dr. Lannon is AMAZING. However, the rest of the team and communication is atrocious. Some of the staff are exceptionally kind, however, most are not. You would think working in such a sensitive and vulnerable area of medicine that everyone would be conscious of their tone, message delivery and overall communication - they are not. Even their automated phone system recordings sound like they're pissed that you've called and that you're a burden. Further, it is impossible to get someone to call you back, and they basically refuse to communicate with you in any other way outside of their email system. Which, by the way, you do NOT receive any notifications of messages (even if you turn on notifications in your app settings, due to the content of the app, banner or other notifications will not go through); you have to login and check you account CONSTANTLY.

This clinic made an already heartbreaking journey so much harder than it needed to be. The communication from the nursing staff was incredibly frustrating. Their responses were slow or there was no response at all, while anxiously waiting for answers. After five failed transfers, I was told multiple times that my case would be reviewed by other doctors. That never happened. It felt like I was just being brushed off instead of truly cared for. Also going into my fifth transfer being walked back to the pacu the nurse asked if I was excited for my first transfer… it just confirmed they do not know or care to know what is going on with their patients. The final straw was trying to leave. I submitted two formal requests, and called multiple times for my records to be sent to a new clinic, and they still didn’t follow through. It delayed my care and added even more stress to an already overwhelming situation. Fertility treatment is deeply personal, and patients deserve so much better than this.

I had a very disappointing experience with Boston IVF in Portland, Maine. Communication and follow-through were consistently poor throughout my time with them. It often took a long time to get any response, and I frequently had to follow up multiple times just to get basic information. One of the most frustrating issues was their referral process. I was told they had referred me to MaineHealth, but MaineHealth never received any information. I personally contacted MaineHealth three separate times, and each time they confirmed that no referral had been sent. After each of those calls, I reached out to Boston IVF again, and they repeatedly assured me they would send the referral—but it never happened. Despite having a large staff, the level of service I received did not reflect that. The administrative coordination and communication were especially lacking. While they were efficient when it came to billing and charging insurance, patient care and follow-up did not meet expectations. After waiting for six months with little progress, the experience has been a major disappointment. Overall, I would rate their service as mediocre and would encourage others to carefully consider their options.

She was so kind, warm, informative, positive and pleasant! I was really impressed with how well she explained the process and what will be happening next and answering all of my questions thoroughly!

Dr. Lannon is the best, but his nursing team is incompetent in communication skills. No one answers their phone, I always have to leave a voicemail. They may call back within two days. We email and they respond 3-4 days later or not at all. We have been trying to transfer our last egg and they have denied multiple times ever receiving emails with paperwork attached when we have proof we sent it. I have my husband handle all types of paperwork cause it gives me anxiety and stress filling it out. However, they refuse on multiple incidents to listen to him or even acknowledge his requests. We still haven’t received our embryo, and I’m afraid they have lost it or are trying to keep it longer so we have to pay them more for storage. Don’t work with them.
