The doctor seemed very passionate but there was absolutely zero communication between staff. I would literally have to advocate my own case with every phone call because they didn’t read my file or know anything going on with my situation. Every single time! Seemed very unprofessional. From the time my husband had a sperm extraction and they hassled me for an hour; complained this wasn’t set up and my 5k would be a wasted even though I followed every avenue possible to set this up. To my follow up on my 3rd embryo transfer that ultimately failed. Every single phone call was 10 minutes explaining my situation. This is not healthcare. This is not how any sort of healthcare should ever be handled. This company is strictly interested in making money unfortunately.

I have not had an appointment be anywhere near the scheduled time in the last 3 months. I am currently 40 minutes behind schedule for my appointment. this has always been a problem but has gotten worse. would be awesome if they could get back on time for appointments considering we can only be 15 minutes late for an appointment. feel like if they are 15 minutes behind I shouldn’t have to pay for my appointment. People have jobs and shouldn’t need to take 2 hours off for a 15 minute ultrasound.

I was scheduled for a transfer today and advised to arrive at 10:45. As I was in the Parking lot I received a call from a nurse confirming my 12pm arrival time. When I advised I was in the parking lot for my scheduled appointment time she advised me that I was mistaken. I instantly looked in the pt portal ( which reflected a 1045 arrival time) then called my office who confirmed that I was correct and was bumped for two egg retrievals. While I understand, this was frustrating as I had a full bladder and this could have been prevented if the Tampa office would have communicated the change. In the end my procedure did not start until 1:15 as the physician was busy. Once again, no one communicated that he was going to be late and I had to inquire after sitting there 15 mins past my rescheduled time. My initial implantation went smoothly but this time things were unorganized and katioc resulting in me being stressed on a very important day. I will never return to Shady grove and would not recommend this place as many things have changed and not for the better. Nurse Katie was awesome however the nurse in the room during the procedure was rude and only introduced herself after I asked her, her role and what was she planning to do. Fyi myself and another pt were rescheduled who I overheard in the hallway expressing her frustrations as she too was not informed. This seems to be a common practice here.

Shady Grove has terrible office staff, high turnover with nurses/case managers, and good doctors. My wife did IVF at Shady Grove, and while the doctors and case managers were professional and competent, don't make the mistake of thinking this is enough. The front desk staff are hard to reach, can't answer questions and act a little rude. This makes for an uncomfortable experience. The Billing Department is similarly bad. In our case, it took months to work through easy problems. It was hard to get anyone on the phone, and once I had someone on the phone they were incompetent and couldn't resolve anything without multiple conversations. Regarding nurses/case managers, my wife had 3 or 4 different case managers during her IVF and my assumption is that each of them left for another job. They were all wonderful, but it was really difficult not knowing with whom to talk. With all the Case Manager turnover, the office staff became really important, but they were unprofessional and incompetent, so we had a bad experience. To conclude, me and my wife did IVF and 1 implantation cycle at Shady Grove; it was a really difficult experience because of everything I've talked about. We ended up with 11 viable embryos, but the experience was so stressful that my wife is now done trying to have a baby. Me and my wife are tough people, not whiners, and I don't say bad things about any business lightly. My best guess is that Shady Grove needs to do a better job investing in the staff around their doctors. If they do this, they can have a great business. I wish everyone out there the best of luck (including Shady Grove).

I’ve been a patient at Shady Grove for several years now. My husband and I have been battling infertility and hoping to start our family. We have done two failed rounds of IUI and then moved on to IVF. Recently I had an issue with my insurance coverage denying claims that should have been approved. Shady Grove’s financial manger Teressa P helped us out tremendously. She has advocated for us and spent hours of her time on the phone trying to straighten out our insurance issue so that we can move forward with another round of IVF. We are so grateful for her assistance and for the rest of the team at Shady Grove. My care coordinator Raven is always so helpful and has the most positive attitude. Cortney, the ultrasound tech I had today is also very kind and welcoming. It’s been a great experience working with Shady Grove team and I hope I’m able to start my family with their assistance!
