Reviews
I have been to four different ivf clinics in 5 years due to moves, and USF IVF was by far one of my best experiences. The doctors and staff were professional yet kind and compassionate; they worked together with me to determine best course of treatment that aligned with values. I felt the staff had my best interests in mind, and they were happy to take the time to educate me about my situation and my options.
One year ago I called to make an appointment and it took me two months to get it. First appointment the doctor scheduled all my exams and I had them done immediately. With all my results the doctor knowing that my egg count was extremely low they didn't proceed with any kind of medications to improve my egg count, instead they scheduled me for another visit with the doctor (more$$) to have him say the same...I am a 38 year old with the biological clock of a 40 year old woman. The third visit was the same information and nothing new was said, just that the doctor scheduled an ultrasound. Got it done, found out I have adenomyosis. Next appointment the doctor explained what is the adenomyosis and explained how more impossible/difficult it will be to get pregnant plus my low egg count. But even with all this information the doctor didn't recommend medicine or start any kind or procedure. I asked the doctor to please start the procedure with the egg retrieval. The doctor said yes, but he explained that they are very busy institution and that the IVF coordinator will call you. I waited 2 months and the next appointment was for another ultrasound (more$$) to get the same diagnosis. I told the doctor; I have a low reserve and every month that passes by I'm losing the possibility of getting pregnant and he said; Yes I know, I will have you scheduled for June, but some of us have vacation days on June so I will tell the IVF coordinator to schedule you ASAP. I haven't received a call from USF IVF or received any kind of medications, treatment, nothing at all. I went to another doctor and on the first visit I got prescribed, started a treatment and I'm getting ready next mont to get my eggs retrieved. MY TIME WILL NEVER COME BACK. This is not an ethical institution! Also my husband received a letter from USF IVF a few days ago saying that due to the departure of one of our doctors that we needed to seek treatment elsewhere. THIS IS A YEAR LATER!! Don't waste your time, look for a better institution that will consider your time, money and specially the expectations of being a Mom.
If I could give them ZERO stars I would! This place is a complete joke, unorganized, unprofessional and MONEY HUNGRY! I could spend 4 hours writing a review but I’ll make it short and sweet- 3 failed IUIs. Decided to get medical records and clear as day it says DO NOT PROCEED WITH NEXT CYCLE, PATIENT APPEARS TO HAVE POLYPS. But they went through with the cycle anyways. Changed doctor completely to a new facility and then the lab manager left our sperm specimens out ALL WEEKEND bc she missed the fed ex guy on Friday. Out last 3, VERY EXPENSIVE sperm specimens has very poor numbers due to this error! Fast forward a year later and we got a bill saying we owe for storage- WE HAD NOTHING ST THEIR FACILITY. finance manager apologized and said the lab manager never updated the log saying she mailed out our sperm. I wholly despise this place with every ounce of my body.
I went here couple of years ago. The reason why I'm just now writing a review is that I received a letter today saying that they sent me to collections over $50.. I might add that they did not inform me that I owed anything. When I switched offices they were very rude to me. I asked them then if I need to pay anything because I did pay out of pocket. Why 2 years later are they sending me to collections?? They also have on my chart that I have HIV. Which scared me, as you can imagine. I had another doctor test me and I do not have HIV. That to me is not a small mistake. When I went to them they were very impersonal and it was hard to get ahold of someone. Felt like a number. When going through this process you are already feeling very stressed out. So when you look for your doctor or nurse for answers you should not feel like you are bothering them.
The wait was pretty long to see the doctor (over an hour). The doctor didn’t shake our hands or make it feel at all personal or special; we are talking about the miracle of life after all! They accept insurance and have a pretty good success rate, so this may be worth considering.
