I find myself writing yet another poor review of SpringCreek Fertility Clinic, 3 1/2 years after I was a patient. This week I received a bill for embryo cryopreservation. 3 1/2 years ago I was notified by the office that my IVF transfer was being canceled due to our only surviving embryo testing abnormally. The woman who called me on that day was unqualified to provide any additional information and was only able to offer us a follow up appointment with Dr. Groll, 2 1/2 months later!, unless we were interested in immediately moving forward with another retrieval procedure. After receiving the bill this week I called SpringCreek half a dozen times, chose different extension options in order to try and reach a live person but ultimately was unable to. I then sent an email to all contacts listed on the invoice. I received a call back today and was absolutely stunned to find out that our only surviving embryo, that tested abnormally therefore wasn't able to be transferred, was still in cryopreservation. Not a single person in 3 1/2 years communicated to my husband and I that the embryo would be preserved after testing abnormally. Hearing that news immediately brought many painful memories for my husband and I back to the surface only to be told that we now needed to sign a disposition form and assume the responsibility of having it notarized for our abnormal, untransferable embryo to be discarded. To say that I am stunned and appalled by the poor management of this fertility clinic is an understatement.

I want to start this out with how thankful I am for the front office staff. They have truly been great about scheduling me when needed, and talking me through things when other parties are unavailable. I truly appreciate you. As far  as the financial team goes, I feel very frustrated. I will not be returning obviously. Any time I ever needed to speak to the financial team I was treated like I am a bother. My first encounters were very confusing as they claimed to know my benefits more than I did, confusing me even more. I had fertility benefits and was advised to do things a certain way, instead of doing what I needed they argued and confused me even more. It took multiple phone calls to explain what was needed. I also work in healthcare,  and understand how my insurance works. I called multiple times to get a clear answer of my coverage, and each time Jessica told me the information was wrong, and tried to tell me how it would be cheaper to be self pay. This was not the case as we have a $350 Deductible and that was way cheaper than the $1100 for one IUI she was trying to pressure me into doing. After doing IUI the clinical staff told me to check into IVF which I know I do not have benefits for, and I asked for an updated self pay list. She argued I did have coverage and gave me a very basic estimate. After talking with my insurance for the hundredth time, they confirmed I do not have IVF coverage, and that Jessica did not confirm the correct plan. If I did not double check, I would’ve been out  thousands of dollars. The clinical nurses did their best to answer my calls and concerns when I called. My issues do not lie with them. Each time I came in I was seen by someone different. We were told IUI was our best shot, so we went through with one. After leaving that appt in tears, I was told “IVF would be the best option.” Given no explanation, and very little information on my Ultrasound that day I left confused. I was given a piece of paper and told to call back with my answer as to whether I wanted to move forward with Treatment or do IVF.  On my paper, there were very scary words. After looking up what these cysts were, it could be linked to endometriosis. I was very confused. I got a call from another NP and she went over my results, said my cyst was most likely from meds and to come back and get scanned next month, which why would you write endometrioma if it’s not that? I was told I could not move forward with treatment with a cyst like this. She then Said based on our results she would recommend either IUI or even naturally, but there was no reason to jump to IVF with our age and factors. I felt so much better with that conversation. Less than a week later I was called by the PA and was told again another opinion and that naturally trying was not recommended. She felt IUI or IVf was the best, leaving me even more confused. When you are going through something this scary and expensive, having one care team and one opinion is truly the way to go. The shuffling between providers, and different answers each time truly sent me spiraling.  After reading through my records, it even looks like the doctor agreed we should continue treatment, but that was not communicated. Please do better moving forward because these last three months have been hell for me.

Beginning to work with and having to go to a fertility clinic is not what anyone wants to do. Springcreek made the experience one that I will never forget. It was scary, overwhelming, frustrating and just no one wants to jump into. Each and everyday/apt and step they were there to help. From financial, to the front desk to my NP. The office was inviting. All the ladies were nice, loving and understanding. With a long commute they always tried to work with me on apt and reschedules. Without the help of Springcreek and taking the plunge, we wouldn’t be where we are today!

The staff is very supportive, caring, and knowledgeable. They're also very prompt to respond to messages through their patient portal. I highly recommend SpringCreek Fertility to any woman on her journey to become a mother.

Now that we have shared our pregnancy publicly, I have been anxiously awaiting writing this review! Our experience with SpringCreek has been absolutely amazing and top notch. From the moment we started our journey with the clinic, we felt welcomed, informed, and supported. Although our pathway had some ups and downs, we are grateful for such an amazing staff and experience. We will be welcoming our baby girl in December and are over the moon in love with her already. Thank you to all of the nurses, NP's, Dr. Groll, and office staff for making us feel at home and making our fertility journey attainable.
