Shady Grove Fertility in Houston – Texas Medical Center

I cannot say enough good things about my experience at Shady Grove- TMC! I was a patient of Dr. Shah (Woodlands) but the med center was closer to my house so I did all of my monitoring there! Everyone made us feel so comfortable and safe, we honestly couldn’t have done it without those women, they made all the difference on our journey! Amber, at the front desk, knew us by name, was always friendly and we really enjoyed her warm personality. Whitney, MA, always made sure all of our questions were answered, her welcoming persona made us feel like we were family. And can’t forget Ishia, phlebotomist, if you ever need blood drawn, she’s your girl, not one time did it ever hurt, and she always remembered I used my opposite arm! After graduation, we went back to celebrate with these women because they made such a huge impact on our life and can’t wait until our baby is born so he can meet them too! Shady Grove TMC 11/10! Highly recommend! Zero complaints! Thank you for helping make our dreams come true!

Dr OHern and her team made my dream of becoming a mother a reality. I always felt listened to and validated here. The staff were always so kind. Appointments never took longer than necessary. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Shady Grove. I also had the privilege to have procedures done at another location by Dr Bruno and Shah. Melody was also an incredible nurse that assisted during these.

I had an amazing experience at Shady Grove Fertility with Dr. Candice O’Hern. From the very first appointment, she made me feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Her bedside manner is truly exceptional—she takes the time to explain everything clearly and thoroughly, making sure all of my questions and concerns were answered and that I understood every step of the process. I never felt rushed, and she genuinely listens to her patients. The entire team at the clinic is just as wonderful. Everyone is friendly, welcoming, and professional, which made each visit a positive experience. Fertility treatment can be an emotional journey, but having such a compassionate and knowledgeable team made all the difference. I’m incredibly grateful for the care I received and highly recommend Dr. O’Hern and the staff at Shady Grove Fertility to anyone looking for a supportive and skilled fertility team. Today I said goodbye to the amazing team which was bittersweet but I left with a little piece of them. Currently 9 weeks pregnant with my little miracle baby that wouldn’t had been possible without the entire SGF team. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

I’ve had such a great experience at this clinic. Dr. Ohern and her team are wonderful and truly make you feel cared for every step of the way. The retrieval clinic staff were also amazing, kind, attentive, and supportive during what can be a very emotional process. A special thank you to Nurse Brittany, who has been incredible, and to Amber at the front desk, who always greets you with a smile and makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It really feels like everyone here genuinely cares about their patients, and that means so much.

The medical care was excellent. Dr. Shah, his nurses, and the front desk staff were all kind, professional, and truly supportive throughout my treatment. From a clinical standpoint, I felt well cared for, and I’m grateful for the amazing outcome of my baby boy. (Photo attached) Unfortunately, the billing and financial department was a very different experience. I was charged more out of pocket than my insurance was billed (with over 30,000 of ART Fertility coverage), double-charged for embryo storage, and overcharged for other services. Reconciling these issues was extremely difficult, with multiple calls and emails to Elizabeth Rodriguez (financial educator) going unanswered. Because the charges did not match the finalized EOBs, our FSA card was locked, creating additional stress during an already emotional process. My pregnancy is high risk and we need our FSA card for MFM appointments, but we cannot use it until we pay back $500 which we paid to this clinic. Which means that this will be yet another service that I am double paying for. The medical team deserves praise, but the financial side needs significant improvement in transparency, accuracy, and responsiveness. I hope this feedback helps improve the overall patient experience, because the care itself was beyond excellent. Thank you to DR. SHAH and HIS TEAM. You guys helped us receive our biggest blessing!
