Reviews
We had been struggling with infertility for eight years. We ended up pursuing embryo adoption through a different clinic but needed an ultrasound at a specific time after the positive pregnancy test. OHSU had availability. We had already decided that we wouldn’t be staying with OHSU through the pregnancy anyway but thought that having them do an ultrasound would be fine. The lady was nice and we were all getting along when suddenly after seeing the heartbeat she proceeds to tell us that those cells are just doing what they’re programmed to do and that she doesn’t understand why people use the heartbeat as a pro life argument. So while she’s doing an ultrasound on someone that has been desperate to see a positive pregnancy test for eight years she decides to promote abortion??? Talk about misreading the room. That completely changed our experience there and also solidified why we’ll be staying far away from this horrible place.
This clinic wasted a year of my time. Poor communication, a missed diagnosis that would have significantly changed the decisions my partner and I made with respect to treatment, and a lack of clear policies or procedures made for a miserable experience. Getting people on the phone to schedule time-sensitive appointments or even getting messages back requires 2-3 follow-up phone calls and a lot of stress. The good employees are over-worked and stretched thin, resulting in a conveyor-belt style feeling. Switched clinics and I'm kicking myself for waiting so long- with a ticking clock, this place is not worth spending precious time on.
Antonio, the representative at the fertility clinic was rude, short, and very unhelpful. We have called multiple times to schedule an appointment and he has made it impossible. We drive a hours to be seen at OHSU. I would never recommend anyone here knowing they have to go through this difficult person. He is driving your patients away. I will be looking elsewhere.
I found Dr. Rubin after seeing two different doctors at this practice focused on reproductive endocrinology. Dr. Rubin has been nothing short of magical! I came in with POI/perimenopause issues and polyps. Dr. Rubin is patient, attentive, and really understands the ways perimenopause impacts people lives. She came up with a prescription plan that includes testosterone that has been incredible for me. Finding a doctor that listens to their patient is unfortunately a rarity. Top that off with finding a provider that can get how the medical industrial complex can leave out queer, trans, and women of color is northing short of a miracle. Dr. Rubin has really been able to provide the necessary care I needed with a trauma-informed lens around how ob/gyn practices can be triggering for survivors. I have also had a positive experience with the clinic being HAES inclusive. If you're part of the LGBTQ and/or POC community, dealing with anything related to ob/gyn issues (getting pregnant, HRT, gender affirming care, etc.), Dr. Rubin is the person you want in your corner!
Somebody like Antonio should not work at a fertility clinic. This is the second bad I experience I had with Antonio. He is rude, short and extremely unhelpful. He makes it nearly impossible to schedule an appointment. My OBGYN referred my husband and I to this clinic and my husband called to schedule and appointment and this time Antonio let him know that they do not do fertility treatments at OHSU male fertility.. and would not further explain. Makes no sense. Infertility is already so hard and Antonio makes it so much harder.
