Reviews
After starting with two other clinics, I have been working with Kindbody for the last two years . I really want to give them 5 stars because the care was amazing. Each team member that I worked with was incredibly kind, patient, and generally willing to answer all of my questions- and I had a lot of questions. I never had to wait more than a minute or two to be seen (even when I was late) and always felt treated as an important and unique individual - not just a number. I never felt rushed by any of the providers. The DC office administrator, Dorian, often caught an earful when i was struggling with the billing department and always responded with grace and made every effort to help me resolve the issues. I will also say that the physical space was always immaculate, warm, and inviting. I think for me, having an all female staff really added a level of comfort and trust that I would be listened to and believed. As an older potential mom, I am most thankful for Dr. Liu. From the moment I met her she offered a comprehensive, honest, and hopeful explanation of what was possible, as well as, what it would take to achieve my goals. While the science was the same with all of the doctors I spoke with- Dr. Liu's delivery was markedly different. Dr. Liu had visuals, slides, and sensitive ways of explaining the challenges I was up against. I immediately trusted her from the start and have not had one regret about trusting her with this very tender process. She was willing to go as far as I wanted and let me chart a path that left me confident that I have done everything that I can to reach my goal. This not just a job, it's a calling for her. Sadly, my only complaint is with the insurance department and the billing department. They would get insurance authorizations, but then attempt to require me to pay my deductible before major procedures were rendered. For each of my procedures, I had to explain that my insurance company did not require me to meet my deductible before covering procedures. Each time I had to request that the deductible of $1,000 be taken out the financial agreements before signing prior to procedures. At the end of the day, I have to say that it was worth every frustrating billing call to get this level of quality care in an environment that started to feel life family.
My husband and I went through a full IVF cycle at Kindbody a few months ago. We had an amazing experience with the doctor, nurses and support staff at this clinic. We graduated from the clinic a few months ago and have missed them ever since. Our care team responded to our questions timely, and treated us with the upmost respect. The team had so much empathy and kindness to myself and my husband. The retrieval and transfer was absolutely seamless. Now that I am at a normal OB clinic, I truly miss the team at Kindbody. For my next pregnancy, I will return to Kindbody.
UPDATE: Regina and Minnie were fantastic and they quickly resolved my issue. I would give their clinical team 5 stars. However they are getting a 1 star because of their financial navigator and their billing practices. I was told that I needed to put down a 50% deposit for an IUI procedure. I spoke to my insurance company and they said that was incorrect because IUI are billed as a surgical procedure they would pay at 100%. I went back and forth with Kindbody but I ended up paying the 50%. Two weeks later, I got an EOB from my insurance company and the claim was paid at 100%. I had no patient responsibility. I inquired about a credit only to be told that I couldn’t get a credit until my insurance paid the claim for an office visit that I had after my IUI. My insurance plan pays for office visits, not sure why they won’t give me a refund but at this point, I feel like the double billed me. I was supposed to start my IVF cycle. However, I refuse to give them any money until they refund me. Like many reviews before me, Kindbody does not care about patient care. They care about money
The actual service I received was fine, but I am extremely frustrated with their billing process. I paid a copay in May 2024 when I saw them, then my insurance rejected the claim and I had to pay an extra $200 in June 2024. Then, completely out of the blue, I got an email in March 2026 saying I now owe $233. I checked my portal and no fees showed. I sent them a message, which they ignored, then I phoned and spoke to a rude man who accused me of not having checked my portal regularly enough. When I pressed him, he said KindBody has moved over to a new system, which is resulting in new emails going out about outstanding fees. As we were on the phone, the charge miraculously appeared in my portal and he tried to gaslight me into saying it had always been there. He was very rude and I am left very frustrated. I still have no idea why I owe the extra money or if they will randomly bill me again in a few years time. Stay away and go elsewhere.
We had an absolute wonderful experience with kind body. Very professional, helpful, attentive nice people. If you’re looking for fertility help, this is the place!
