Canada Cryobank | Donor Sperm & Donor Egg Bank

I actually didn’t have a terrible experience through the process of trying to obtain vials of donor sperm. When I purchased my vials I was advised to order 3 vials because the chances of needing more and not being available were always there and that there would be opportunities to resell the vials if they were not needed. I paid close to 6000 dollars for 3 vials. They were transferred to my fertility clinic but we didn’t end up using them. A year and a half later when I contacted Canada Cryobank to ask if there was the possibility of reselling them, I was told that no there wasn’t and actually they had been transferred back 18 months ago and I had been accruing storage fees that entire time. They sent no notification of amount owing at anytime, the only reason I even learned they were charging me was because I reached out to them. I’m sure they would be happily charging me until the end of time with no notice whatsoever. When I called to see if a solution could be found I was told that it’s up to me to keep my account current. I’m not sure how I was supposed to keep it current when I didn’t even know that they had taken ownership back again? The process is extremely confusing and their inability to work with me on a solution makes me unable to recommend their services: go with the clinic that your fertility clinic recommends working with. I wish that I had done that. I wouldn’t be out an additional almost 1400 dollars (and counting!!!)

A fertility process is a very difficult journey and Cryobank was the must stressful part. Julia never returned my phone calls, NEVER. Very disappointing. AVOID if you can. **** UPDATE*** After posting my review, there was a positive change. All subsequent communications were answered in a timely manner and with empathy towards my situation. For the sake of transparency, I wanted to point this out.

Canada Cryobank has been amazing to work with! From day one they have been extremely responsive, courteous, and knowledgeable. Julia was my main contact and she made the process extremely seamless. This can be a stressful process so it was a relief working with a bank that made things so much easier. I highly recommend them, you will be in great competent hands!
