Reviews
Extremely rude financial person Evette Nieves who have hung up on me 99.9% of the time. The admin is meh. The nurses are so hard to get a hold off. The covering doctors tell you something different. The covering nurses yell at you. They have poor communications. They expect you to know how to take your meds and REFUSE to explain when you have questions about plans etc. they keep saying just text us when you have your period, and expect you to understand the box send to your house full of injections of all kinds, tables and injections and needles. If it wasn’t for the pharmacist (not Boston ivf) that took over 40 min teaching me how to mix it etc). Then they don’t work on weekends but they expect you to go through weekends knowing that you need to know. The staff are always angry midway and lack bedside manners or the understanding that while they do this in their sleep some parents are first time patients who is not used to injecting 4 injections a day, meds, change in dosing midway, they don’t count their doses well and I’ve had to miss dose because they miscalculated and blame it on the pharmacy. So now I’m left without meds over the weekend. They overcharge everything, expects you to be available for bloodwork every other day and ultrasound. When asked what to expect for my cycle so I can plan my work, they won’t even give you a broad overview and said it all depends. I’m not asking for specifics but they won’t explain anything and hangs up. If it’s not for my awesome provider I would have left. Other than a very understanding MD, I would not even give this place a one star. FYI I’m in the health field and can you imagine other moms who’s not in the health field to grasp all this without clear instructions etc. very sad. My friends on the other hand who had ivf through Stanford had classes to sit on where they walk you through each step and what to expect. Yes what to expect! Overall plan! Not specifics but Boston ivf WONT tell you like it’s some kind of secret receipe.
My husband and I spent a year with Boston IVF and no answers no guidance and never a proper plan in place to get the answers we were looking for. Since the first meeting it was thrown in our face multiple times that a lot of people have “unexplained infertility”. It almost felt like they had no plans to try and nail down any possible reasons for our issues. I found myself reaching out constantly to see the progress on insurance approvals, bringing up issues to potentially why things were not working, and would get billed for things 6+months after they happened with no description to what I was paying. We continued on with cycles without any additional testing for other causes to why we were not getting a positive outcome and completely ruled out my husband for any potential underlying abnormalities after one initial test. It cost me a year of time and money that I will not get back. I transferred to a different clinic and have had a total 180 experience. We immediately did a handful of tests before starting a cycle, and wasting money and time, to find that there was something abnormal on my husband’s end. For an entire year we were being told we had “unexplained infertility” when there were signs all along. Please if you are reading this do not waste your time at this place and save yourself the heartache and hassle.
Terrible office policies. The nurses, techs and doctors seem nice, but the office policies turned what would have been a hard process into the most stressful year of my life so far. First they would NOT let me make an appointment even though I had stage IV endometriosis and I called multiple times. I even asked them to talk to someone higher up and explain that my surgeon wanted me to see an RE. They REFUSED to even give me advice because I hadn’t tried naturally for six months yet. (I should have lied and said we had!) I had to then wait for surgery and then wait six months and then wait for an appointment. The process took over a YEAR (six months wait for surgery, six months to try and fail, three months for an appointment). When I landed in the doctor’s chair she said I had a 5% chance of conceiving unless we went straight to IVF. I was horrified. I hadn’t known! THIS is where the stressful part starts. When I asked the doctor how long the process would take to get started, she said “we can start anytime.” I took her literally and had no idea what the steps were ahead of me or how long it would take. The office staff never calls so don’t expect that. Expect to have to hound them. When you ask a question of the financial coordinator, she never responds. You will be shuttled from admin to nurse to finance coordinator with no access to the doctor unless you want an official appointment. From my first appointment to the start of stims took another FIVE MONTHS. I was super stressed so I wasn’t on them like I could have been. They would have forgotten about me if I hadn’t kept circling back, I’m sure. I can’t speak to the medical side of what they do as I have no comparison. My cycle failed miserably, maybe from stress, on top of endometriosis (endo is worsened by stress). I developed a new endo cyst in the middle of all this. My husband ended up herniating his disc in the middle of all of this, probably worsened by stress. Just expect to hear from Boston IVF that time is of the essence while they do the bare minimum to help you get to the finish line. Thus adding to the stress. They also provide no assistance with injections; I am not sure if that’s normal. I watched my own videos because theirs didn’t apply to my exact meds and felt completely alone in the experience. Long story short: YOU CAN GO TO ANY DOCTOR AT BOSTON IVF IF YOU ARE IN WESTERN MA AND USE THIS LOCATION FOR LABS. (I didn’t know that until I joined a Facebook group of local women going though this, because an admin in Boston gave me the WRONG information.)
Working with Boston IVF for over two years. I second everything that has been written regarding communication, organization, and billing. Clearly do not have the administrative structure in place to support their clients or staff. Generally staff are kind and polite. But the over all process is a mess and leads to additional heartache, delays and frustration. Our disappointing personal experiences are too long to list. They are absolutely exploiting patients deep desire to be parents and making no effort to address systemic problems. The cold auto-reply to this message, which applies to all of their poor reviews, is meaningless. If you can go anywhere else you should.
I have been extremely frustrated with the billing department's disorganization. I often receive bills without any breakdown or invoice numbers that correspond to the statements previously sent in the mail. Additionally, there is constant pressure to make payments, and I am told my cycle won't be approved if I don't comply. I have called the billing department multiple times and even left a voicemail last week, but I have yet to receive any follow-up. To make matters worse, bills are often mailed to me a month later, after I've already paid them based on earlier communications. It's disappointing that, despite being a large medical group in 2025, they have not streamlined their billing process. This lack of organization creates unnecessary stress, especially during what is already a sensitive time for patients.
