Reviews
This clinic’s care coordination is extremely poor and placed an unreasonable burden on patients. After being told on short notice to travel four hours away for ultrasounds and transfer, we looked online to understand why. That’s when we learned from other patients’ reviews that the Laguna office was reportedly closing. This was never disclosed to us directly. Transparency should not require patients to investigate online. They told me I would be required to travel to Bakersfield for routine ultrasound monitoring during my embryo transfer cycle. This is not a one-time visit. There are multiple monitoring appointments involved. I was effectively expected to drive approximately four hours each way—an eight-hour round trip—for standard ultrasounds. This is not reasonable or workable, especially during an active IVF cycle. The office closure is clearly an internal operational issue, yet patients are expected to absorb the consequences with little to no advance notice. Had this been disclosed earlier, I could have arranged local monitoring and a transfer of care with another physician. Instead, I was informed at a point when most physicians’ schedules are already booked months in advance, eliminating realistic alternatives. To make matters worse, on the day of my embryo transfer, I already had required acupuncture appointments in Irvine both before and after the transfer—standard support for IVF patients. Coordinating same-day travel between Irvine and Bakersfield is simply impossible. While ultrasound monitoring and transfer timing are medically necessary, what is unacceptable is shifting the logistical fallout of office closures and poor planning onto patients. Even worse, there was no proactive effort to coordinate a referral to a local Irvine-based physician to take over monitoring. If you are considering this clinic, be aware that office closures, late communication, and extreme travel demands may become your problem, not theirs.
Dr. Acacio is not only an exceptional physician, but a doctor who truly cares, listens, and fights for his patients. His knowledge, intuition, and compassion changed our lives forever, and I will be grateful to him for the rest of my life. Just as incredible is his entire staff is kind, supportive, responsive, and made us feel cared for every step of the way. We could not have done this without them, and we will be forever grateful. After 5 years of trying to get pregnant, multiple doctors, 2 egg retrievals, and 4 failed transfers, I came to Dr. Bryan Acacio with unexplained infertility and very little hope. From our first consult, Dr. Acacio truly listened. I suspected endometriosis, which previous doctors dismissed, but he insisted on surgery and found stage 2 endo. He also ran an autoimmune panel that revealed genetic variations affecting implantation testing my prior doctors never pursued. He immediately recommended PGT testing, which finally gave us answers. He also listened to my concerns about timing during retrieval. This time, we waited one extra day and the results were life-changing: 11 eggs retrieved, 9 mature, 7 blasts, and 5 genetically normal embryos. In November, we transferred two embryos. After the longest 11 days of my life, I got the call I was pregnant. Two weeks later, we learned both embryos had implanted. To the future parents: there’s a light a the end of this journey. Keep fighting it will be worth it 💙
I couldn't recommend Dr. Acacio and his team's clinic more. I was referred here by a friend of mine and ended up doing 2 egg freezing cycles with them and I am very happy with the outcome. Their office is very organized, the team is sweet and warm, they answer emails and phone calls promptly, and they accommodate visits around your schedule as best as they possibly can. The clinic is very convenient as it's right off the freeway which made it ideal for quick ultrasounds prior to work. Kasey, Nicole, Mariana, Gabi are all simply wonderful and supportive every step of the way. Dr. Acacio is patient, kind, and honest, he makes you feel totally comfortable throughout the entire process. Dr. Hiscox is probably my favorite anesthesiologist I've ever had experience with (and I've been under a lot), he's so pleasant, charming, and has a delightful sense of humor, exactly the kind of presence you need before going to sleep prior to a procedure. Finally Dr. Scodras, the Senior Embryologist, is wonderful, he sends you detailed emails less than 24 hrs after the procedure with updates. Overall if you're looking for a fertility center, look no further, this is the place. Thank you all for the empowering experience.
My husband and I came to Dr. Acacio during a challenging time of trying for children. From our first meeting, Dr. Acacio and his staff were attentive, kind, intentional, and provided exceptional personal care. We went through the IVF process and each step of the way were provided support, information and fantastic customer service. We made it through the process and are so incredibly grateful to Dr. Acacio and his staff. They were there every step of the way and while it can be a scary and daunting time, they provided the best support possible. We would highly recommend using Acacio Fertility Services.
I would highly recommend Dr. Acacio to others! Not only is he very knowledgeable and takes the time to answer any questions you may have, but he is also thoughtful and extremely caring. My husband and I previously went to a different doctor with no luck or explanations to our infertility. We are fortunate to have found Dr. Acacio and team and are now pregnant with our first! He has an amazingly supportive team that works for him as well. They are all so helpful and I know I can depend on them to get back to me promptly without any worries. Wonderful doctor and staff!
