Reviews
1. We are intended parents residing in Israel. 2. we have contracted with an egg donor agency in our journey to become parents through surrogacy in the U.S. 3. It is important to note that we contracted this agency through an organization called MEN HAVING BABIES (MHB) as we were at that time qualified for discounted surrogacy services. 4. Unfortunately, the egg donor agency has misled us and damaged us and breached the agreement and obligations to us. 5. Out of the blue, the agency's representative, who we know as Mbali, decided to terminate the agreement prior to completion of the contracted service, and after receiving a fee. 6. The agency claimed that it invested the hours of service and thus terminated its service. 7. However, the agency never mentioned that the service is limited by certain hours of allegedly pro bono service. Such condition should have been mentioned prior to signing the agency agreement, and should been included in the agreement itself. And it wasn’t. Obviously, if mentioned prior, we would have had considered our steps wisely and may have considered working with other agency. 8. The agency showed us 3 potential donors that might match. Unfortunately, after closing the first donor's fee, the agency claimed that the first donor decided to increase the fee and that we shall pay 25,000$ and not the agreed amount of 20,000$. Therefore, due to this inconsistency and it is a huge and unexpected amount, it was decided to search for a different donor, that is more compatible for our budget and financial situation. 9. we were shocked to realize that the second donor was disqualified by the clinic since she lives in a "zika" country and is forbidden to be egg donor. The agency shouldn’t have suggested this donor in the first place, as it's not possible to proceed with. 10. In relation to the third and last donor , the agency knew from the very beginning that we need to split the eggs between two sperms and shall get enough eggs for this. In fact, The agency described the last donor, Laura, who was disqualified by the clinic for not enough eggs, as follows (email from March 17th): "Laura has already had a medical screening, her AMH is very high which means she has lots of eggs". 11. When introducing the last donor, the agency misrepresented that the donor had completed medical screening and is ready to retrieving the eggs, but that was far from true. Furthermore, as later found out, the agency's represented that all documents and information were delivered to the clinic, but it wasn’t and even the match letter, hasn’t been sent on that time, in contrast to the agency's notice. 12. It's important to say that the clinic is the only professional entity to disqualified a donor for medical reasons. we never disqualified any of the suggested donors. 13. Anyhow, it is hard to believe that after 3 suggested donors (which might match), the agency invested 5 hours per day in the month of service. As it claimed untruthfully. 14. In addition, it doesn’t make any sense that after certain "hours" allegedly invested, without a suitable match, and after paid 1,000$ as "administrative fee", the agency decides to terminate the service and leaves us, especially after being paid. The agency's claim that if fails to match a donor, and without returning the "administrative fee", we will be given another agency, doesn’t add up, as every agency could collect this fee, and it may cause financial damage as it did. 15. Therefore, we asked the agency to give back the 1,000$ as the agency decided to terminate the agreement and as the donor was found incompatible by the clinic. The agency refused to do so. 16. In addition, the agency gave a false presentation and slandered us to justify the agency's decision that is in contrast to the contractual obligation, and made MHB terminate our journey with MHB, causing us severe financial damages, but also emotional damages, distress and agony as our journey to become parents is on hold and uncertain for a long time
I just completed my egg donation. I had such a great experience, HRC Pasadena was amazing. Egg donor agency was so supportive. Thank you all, I am looking forward to another egg donor cycle.
WARNING - Don't waste your time, effort and money!!! Surrogacy journey is difficult with lots of unknowns. Writing this review for Donateorsurrogate (same as Model Egg Donor & Surrogacy Organization) if it saves others some pain. We connected with DonateorSurrogate agency to help us find a surrogate. We quickly realized they were a small agency, new in this business, lack of experience e.g., they didn't even know basics about insurance requirements! However, they quickly introduced us to a surrogate who seemed friendly and great on zoom. We were assured everything was in order for medical clearance. Given their obvious lack of experience that showed in every conversation, we still didn't feel comfortable signing up with this agency but wanted to bet on this one surrogate who seemed good. Fast forward, the surrogate had glaring medical issues so did not pass even on paper with our clinic (this wasn't disclosed to us). We wasted more time with their assurance that they have many other suitable surrogates. We had refused to sign the agency contract until she was medically cleared but were told to give some initial payment to "express our sincerity" in moving forward. We were assured it would be returned to us if the surrogate did not pass medical clearance (and we'd have to sign a formal contract and payment anyway if she cleared so it would be refunded anyway) Today - Time lost, effort wasted and never got the money back. The fact that surrogates didn't medically pass on paper with glaring concerns from the doctor leads me to gross negligence or fraud. I will be lodging a complaint with the Better business bureau or even small courts as a matter of principle. Note: The owner comes across as calm, sincere, responsive with everything you want to hear but you will get zero results. Everything will be assured politely, nothing will actually happen.
