I came to Boston IVF with high hopes and a need for compassionate, patient-centered care. I specifically chose Dr. Nesbit because she expressed genuine concern over how often patients—especially women—aren’t heard. She promised to listen and support me throughout the process. That promise was broken. From the beginning, it was clear that my concerns were only taken seriously when voiced by my husband. As the patient, I was routinely dismissed or talked over, while my husband was treated as the authority—even when repeating what I had just said. It was humiliating and invalidating. Things came to a head when a nurse repeatedly called me by the wrong name. I corrected her multiple times, and when I finally showed understandable frustration, I was treated as the problem. No apology, just defensiveness. Then, during a follow-up, Dr. Nesbit herself referred to me using that same wrong name. That moment broke whatever trust I had left. The doctor I had chosen for her empathy didn’t even know who I was. I also brought up documented efforts I had made—messages and attempts to clarify care that were ignored across multiple departments. Dr. Nesbit seemed surprised, despite this being a repeated issue. My efforts to be proactive were simply brushed aside by staff, with zero accountability. This entire experience made me feel invisible, silenced, and deeply disrespected. For a place that claims to support women through one of the most vulnerable times in their lives, the disconnect between that promise and my reality was staggering. If you want to be truly seen, heard, and cared for as a patient, I would strongly urge you to look elsewhere.

I came to Boston IVF with my wife, full of hope that we would receive compassionate, patient-centered care. We specifically chose Dr. Nesbitt because she assured us that she understood how often women aren’t heard in medical settings, and that she would listen and advocate for my wife throughout the process. That promise was not kept. From the very beginning, it was clear that my wife’s voice was not valued. Time and again, her concerns were dismissed or minimized, while the same points—when echoed by me—were acknowledged. It was disheartening and frankly offensive to watch her be talked over in her own appointments. As her partner, I should not have been the one granted credibility when she was the patient. The most glaring example came when a nurse repeatedly called my wife by the wrong name. Despite her correcting the mistake multiple times, the error continued. When she understandably showed frustration, she was treated as the problem instead of receiving a simple apology. To make matters worse, Dr. Nesbitt herself later referred to my wife by that same wrong name. That single moment made it clear that my wife was not seen as an individual, but just another file in the system. What concerned me even more was the lack of accountability within the team. My wife had documented multiple attempts to clarify care, sending messages and following up across departments, only to be ignored. When we raised this with Dr. Nesbitt, she seemed unaware, as if the lack of communication and follow-through was news to her. This pointed to a deeper issue: not only was my wife not being heard, but Dr. Nesbitt was unable—or unwilling—to effectively manage her staff to ensure patients are properly cared for. A strong leader would have recognized these breakdowns and addressed them, but instead, the problems persisted. As a husband, watching my wife feel invisible and disrespected during one of the most vulnerable times in her life was devastating. We came to Boston IVF looking for care, empathy, and partnership. Instead, we found mismanagement, indifference, and a culture that silenced the very person it was supposed to support. If you want your partner to be truly seen, heard, and respected, I cannot in good conscience recommend Boston IVF under Dr. Nesbitt’s care.
