Shady Grove Fertility in Baltimore – Harbor East

I have nothing but great things to say about the SGF Baltimore East team. As a trans man wanting to carry my own child, I worried about being discriminated against or having awkward meetings with medical professionals. Instead, I was met with kindness and compassion with a team that was truly rooting for myself and my partner as we started our own family. Dr. Morris is attentive and very easy to talk to; she laid all our options out to us and helped us pick which was best for our situation. We had the pleasure of having Elayne as our nurse who was always just one message or call away and so, so helpful throughout our journey. Ariel at the front desk would always greet us with a smile and I was so happy to put my pom-pom in the jar of hope at her desk at our last appointment. Honestly, everyone at the office is amazing! We are now at 20 weeks (can’t July get here faster!?), and it’s all thanks to the support from the SGF team. You could not find a better place to go to!

Our medical team at SGF Harbor East have been nothing short of phenomenal. My wife and I couldn’t have been more privileged to work with an all women of color team (Dr. Jerrine Morris, Alvonda, Avi, Ariel, Melissa, and Jasmine) who have helped change our lives forever. We are so grateful for each and every one of them. Through multiple egg retrievals, IUIs, multiple rounds of IVF, a miscarriage, and challenges that rerouted our journey to parenthood, we’re so appreciative of their love, support, and encouragement that kept us going through it all. My wife and I just announced to our families that we’re expecting twins and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you so much to our SGF team! This is truly a group win!!!

The team at SGF Habor East became our family. The women there are so incredibly caring, I always felt taken care of and looked after. After only a few visits, Ariel knew my name when I would call. Melissa and Jasmine always greeted me with a huge smile. Avie was incredibly attentive and kind, answering all my questions during the ultrasounds. Alvonda was my lifeline with all of her updates, calls, support, sharing in my excitement and my disappointments. And Dr. Morris, always made time to call me before any procedure and was incredibly thorough, consulting with colleagues to always make decisions that were sound, evidence-based and, as best she could, aligned with our vision. This team is small but mighty, and hands down made a stressful and, at times, difficult experience significantly more manageable, hopeful, and all around better. This is the most amazing team you could ever ask for! We started our journey with Shady Grove Harbor back in March, and from the very beginning, I felt so cared for. Dr. Morris was incredibly thorough. she went through every bit of my bloodwork and made sure we found the right treatment plan for my body. I have PCOS, so we started Gonal-F injections, and after just two cycles… we got pregnant! 🥹 We’re now 11 weeks along, and it still doesn’t feel real sometimes. The staff here truly feels like family. Every single person is kind, supportive, and full of genuine warmth. You can feel that they love what they do, and that love pours into every appointment, every phone call, every little moment. We’re beyond grateful for Dr. Morris and the entire team… they made one of the hardest journeys in our life feel full of hope, encouragement, and compassion. Shady Grove Harbor will always hold a special place in our hearts. 💕

The staff of this office is exceptionally kind and gentle. You sometimes forget you are within a larger practice. I have had mixed experiences with shady grove as a whole, however particular providers have made the process bearable. Nurse practitioner Emily Opdycke has been one of my favorite providers and is a standout in her kindness and sensitivity. I have cried with her and celebrated with her. I feel heard and seen whenever I am under her care.
