I have mixed feelings about my experience with Shady Grove. I’m thankful that they were able to diagnose the cause of our infertility and help us get answers. That part of our experience was valuable. Also the Frederick doctors were very nice, I did want to mention that. What has left me incredibly frustrated is the financial side of things. Infertility is already one of the most emotionally draining experiences a couple can go through, and on top of that, the costs are overwhelming. Unfortunately, our insurance doesn’t cover infertility treatment, so every appointment, test, and procedure has been paid completely out of pocket. I understand that medical care isn’t free, and I have never expected my balance to be forgiven. I have been trying to pay what I owe. What I did ask for was a reasonable payment plan that fit my financial situation. Instead, I felt like there was very little willingness to work with me, despite explaining that I was committed to paying my balance. It was incredibly discouraging to feel like my only options were to come up with money I simply didn’t have or risk my account being sent to collections. For a practice that works exclusively with people facing infertility, I expected more compassion and flexibility. They know many of their patients are already under tremendous emotional and financial stress. Not everyone has thousands of dollars set aside for infertility treatments, especially when insurance provides no coverage. I wasn’t asking to avoid paying my bill. I was simply asking for a payment plan that I could realistically afford while continuing to meet my obligation. I’m grateful for the medical care and the answers we received, but I sincerely hope Shady Grove reevaluates its financial policies. Patients deserve to know what they’re getting into financially before starting treatment, and they deserve payment options that recognize the reality many infertility patients face. My hope is that sharing my experience helps other couples know what to expect before beginning their journey. I also found it very frustrating that money was withdrawn from my account on more than one occasion without my knowledge or authorization. That created even more financial stress during an already difficult time. Patients should be notified and give clear authorization before payments are processed.

Shady Grove Fertility in Frederick made such a difficult journey feel so much easier with how kind, caring, and supportive everyone was throughout the entire process. Every single staff member treated us with compassion and made us feel truly cared for at every appointment. One of the sweetest moments was when we “graduated” after getting pregnant — the staff gave us a card signed by everyone and included our 8-week sonogram photo inside. It was such a thoughtful and emotional gesture that we will never forget. We are beyond grateful for the incredible team at Shady Grove Fertility and highly recommend them to anyone going through fertility treatment.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Bromer and the entire team at Shady Grove Fertility. Over the past five years, they helped us bring home three healthy babies—something we will never take for granted. From the very beginning, Dr. Bromer was compassionate, knowledgeable, and honest, guiding us through every step of the journey with care and expertise. The staff was always supportive, responsive, and genuinely invested in our success, which made a challenging process feel much more manageable. We truly can’t thank them enough for the role they played in growing our family. We highly recommend Dr. Bromer and Shady Grove Fertility to anyone in need of fertility support.

This office has been absolutely amazing to me. Every time I go in, the entire team is upbeat, positive, and truly welcoming. Toni has been incredibly patient and understanding throughout everything I’ve been going through for over a year. She takes the time to listen and always gives honest, thoughtful advice. Dr. Broomer is just as compassionate—he listens, understands, and always does what he believes is best for me. Before my surgery, he personally called to wish me luck, and even when there was difficult news, he made sure to reach out directly. That level of care means so much. It put tears in my eyes a few times. Milka is full of energy and positivity, and she does a wonderful job explaining everything in a way that makes it easy to understand. Michelle and the entire bloodwork team are also amazing—always upbeat, supportive, and very understanding. This office truly cares about their patients, and I would highly recommend them to anyone

Posting a bit behind, as it was not public knowledge we were trying to conceive. I worked with Frederick SGF from Nov 2024 till my first successful implantation, graduating in Jan 2026. I cannot say enough wonderful things about this facility. Every time I arrived, I was greeted with a smile from Jaque, who was always on top of getting paperwork together and ensuring I had all my follow up appointments scheduled on my way out. Every phlebotomist was pleasant, asked me how my day was going and made conversation. This is not an easy process and going in so frequently is exhausting, so this was refreshing and welcomed and helped me keep my spirits up. Milka and Margaret, were so wonderful. I truly felt like they understood what I was going through and they explained things thoroughly at each visit, cheering me on each step of the way. My nurse, Toni, was always prepared with answers to all of my questions and was always very responsive. She went above and beyond to ensure I had everything I needed at each step of this journey. Dr. Gadson was a pleasure to work with from the very begining. She is very knowledgable and explained the process and our options thoroughly and checked in throughout our journey to guide me through and answer any questions I had. Both her and Toni had a calming presence about them that was very helpful during these hard times. It was a very bittersweet moment when I got the news I would be graduating, but I left feeling like every staff member in that clinic was celebrating with me and would highly recommend SGF Frederick for anyone else having to go through this journey.
